This was our view as we walked out of the temple. It was so peaceful and serene!

This week was definitely a roller coaster ride of emotions!
It started with watching Stake Conference on the Stake's YouTube channel. The internet in Nauvoo is pretty bad so we weren't able to see much of the conference because it kept buffering and wouldn't play. For those asking, yes, Conference is held at the Stake Center in Nauvoo but as a mission, we were asked to watch it from home.
Later Sunday, we went to the Visitor's Center for our IC shift to find that there were no YSMs there. The highlight for me of working at the VC is working and being with them. They are such a joy to be with! Not saying the Senior Missionaries aren't but they'll all agree that the YSMs are loved and will be missed!
Monday we started pulling all of the annuals out of the Lyon Drug gardens and pulled down the gourd tunnel.
That was a sad day but I thought it would be harder for me. Instead I felt joy. I had asked Heavenly Father that morning to help me feel joy and I did. Tuesday we finished pulling Lyon Drug and moved on to work on the other flower beds. I posted this on my Facebook page - it shares my feelings.

I also need to give a shout out to Richard Hancock, who is the full-time employee over the gardens in historic Nauvoo. He's been very patient with me and I've learned a lot from him.
Wednesday we met at 7:00 a.m. After helping with some final clean up and weighing of suitcases, we loaded nine of the YSMs in the vans and headed for the airport in St. Louis. These sweet sisters were heading home. It was fun to see their roller coaster of emotions as they left Nauvoo and their fellow YSMs and then the excitement as they realized that they were actually heading home!
As we traveled, the sisters were talking amongst themselves and I heard the last part of a conversation they had. One of the sisters had a hard time on her outbound mission. She was asked how she made it through it and she said, (paraphrased) "I just kept thinking that Nauvoo is just around the corner, keep going, that I want to make it back to Nauvoo." I love that! When I have hard times I need to remember that better times are just around the corner and to keep going! I want to make it back to my Heavenly home! Things always get better and then I usually see what I was to learn - after the trial is over.
After we dropped the YSMs off at the airport, we joined the other couples then went and headed to lunch and then to the Gateway Arch. We weren't able to go up in it (too much of a wait) but it was pretty cool to see in person and it was fun getting to know E/S Cochran and E/S Wessman better. It was a good day! We did a Costco stop on the way home and arrived back home at around 9:00p.m. It was a long day but I loved spending it with my wonderful Nauvoo family!
Are you still with me? Haha
Thursday night we had dinner with some good friends from Park City - Steve and Kaylynn Wheeler. They had us over to where they were staying and we had a great visit with them and their friends and family. We then went with them to "Sunset by the Mississippi" and that's always a great way to end the day!
Friday night we went to the temple! It's always a great day when we can go to the temple!
This weekend was General Conference and that always makes for a great weekend! Saturday morning we had our traditional Conference morning breakfast with those who live in the condos plus a few others. It was a fun way to start the day, especially since Doug made the food that we took - fried potatoes, onions, sausage and eggs all scrambled together. It was yummy!
General Conference was uplifting and wonderful to listen to. I'm sure glad that it's printed and also that I can listen whenever I want to. My takeaways - Be kind, love God, your neighbors and yourself. I don't have to be perfect but I need to improve daily - do that 1% daily to bring me closer to where I need to be. Keep focused on the path ahead and don't let distractions get in my way of getting to my Heavenly home. I have a lot of work to do but with Heavenly Father's help, I can do it! That's just a small portion. Ten hours of Conference gives me a lot to learn and do!
I love you, my friends and family! I'm thankful to know that our associations can be forever. I'm grateful for my Savior who makes that possible.
Pulling the annuals from Lyon Drug. Love my work crew!

We helped take dinner into Casey and his wife. Casey is a FM employee
and his wife recently had a baby. I made these little race cars for them.
Sister Scott being Sister Scott! I love her and miss her smile and cheery personality!
Saying goodbye, again, to another group of YSMs. It's hard to
get a good picture in the dark, from a distance.
The last time they were all together. At this point, they were loaded up by Airport Terminal
and said their goodbyes to each other here.

The one time we served at Pioneer Pastimes, we served
with Sister Scott and we instantly loved her,
